Brisbane residents can contribute to the community next month, by donating to Homeless Connect in anticipation of their November event.
Homeless Connect is an event where Brisbane community members from different working fields pull together, and offer their services to the City's homeless. In addition, the homeless are provided with basic living essentials, donated throughout the year by local communities.
Acceptable donations include:
• shampoo & conditioner
• deodorant & soap
• toothbrushes & toothpaste
• tissues
• razors
• laundry powder
• wet ones/ cleaning wipes
• feminine hygiene products
• shoes *particularly mens
• underwear and socks *NEW ONLY
• pre-loved clothing *Only items in good condition
• blankets, linen, washers, towels
• wool
• batteries, hats and snacks *LONG LIFE items only
• phone cards
• containers for soap, toothbrush and toothpaste
The previous four Homeless Connect events have helped over 1200 of Brisbane's disadvantaged. If you would like to contribute to the event by donating essentials, please bring them to the Walter Taylor Ward Office. The Walter Taylor Ward office is located at Shop 4001A, Level 4, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre; adjacent to the cinemas.
Donations will be collected from the Walter Taylor Ward Office on 11 November, in preparation for the next event on 26 November.
